TOKYO (TR) \u2013 It\u2019s been a busy 12 months for adult video<\/a> starlet Mana Sakura<\/a> \u2014 and now she can claim to be the industry\u2019s queen.<\/p>\n

At the climax of the Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards held earlier this month, the 21-year-old was presented with the Best Actress award from a field six contestants.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like a dream,\u201d said a gushing Sakura<\/a>, attired in a revealing red evening gown. \u201cHere in my chest I will forever treasure the support and encouragement of each of my fans and the members of the production company.\u201d<\/p>\n

Held in a theater in Shibuya Ward, the somewhat tongue-in-cheek annual event uses online voting by fans to present to present a number of awards to the top female stars appearing on the more than 10,000 AV<\/a> programs broadcast last year on the nearly 20 adult channels on the Sky PerfecTV! satellite network.<\/p>\n

Other notable awards went to Moe Amatsuka (Best New Actress) and Ayumi Shinoda (Best Mature Actress). The Best Picture award was presented to a lesbian feature<\/a> from Rainbow Channel<\/a> starring Saki Hatsumi and Chika Arimura.<\/p>\n

But the night belonged to Sakura<\/a>, a representative from the Splash channel who also walked away with the Flash<\/em> media prize.<\/p>\n

Soon after\u00a0\u201cMana Sakura: AV Debut\u201d hit the market in 2012 users on Twitter rightly fingered her as\u00a0a student enrolled at a technical junior college. He popularity subsequently soared. At the Sky PerfecTV! Adult Broadcasting Awards<\/a> the following year, she was crowned Best New Actress<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last September, Sakura began blogging for Toyota<\/a>. Three months later, her likeness appeared in 3D software for the Oculus Rift headset<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Her latest project\u00a0is \u201cWhen I Was 18, I Found My Vocation<\/a>,\u201d a 143-page collection of essays released by publisher Takarajimasha<\/a> in January that offers her views on why she entered the profession and insights into the industry itself<\/a>, such as the salary of an actress and acting techniques.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was not a consideration back when I was a student working hard with surveying instruments,\u201d said said Sakura<\/a> about the Best Actress prize. \u201cI don\u2019t want this wonderful moment to end.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ceremonies concluded with many of the nominees tossing rolled panties to the audience.<\/p>\n
